  • Ahmed Ali

    FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Ahmed Ali stands at the helm of LA Family Support Services, not only as its visionary founder but also as the dedicated executive director. His educational journey began at CMCC College, where he delved into the intricate world of Human Services and earned an associate degree. His thirst for knowledge and desire to make a more significant impact led him to transfer to the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA). There, he further specialized in his field, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mental Health and Human Services.

    Before founding LA Family Support Services, Ahmed played a pivotal role in the Lewiston Public Schools system as an interpreter. In this capacity, he became a bridge of communication, helping parents and students with limited English proficiency navigate the challenges of the educational system, ensuring they felt heard and understood.

    Over the past six years, Ahmed has donned the hat of a case manager, tirelessly working to connect both adults and children with the resources and services they need. His work focuses on enabling them to carve a path towards their aspirations and achieve their individual and collective goals.

    At the core of his endeavors lies Ahmed's unwavering commitment to the welfare of the vulnerable. Guided by a deep-seated passion, he is wholeheartedly devoted to assisting individuals and communities in grappling with and overcoming the myriad challenges that life often presents. In every role he undertakes, Ahmed Ali's mission remains the same: to uplift, empower, and transform lives.

    President

    Aden Awil is an accomplished alumnus of Central Maine Community College, where he earned an associate degree in human services. His academic credentials are bolstered by an expansive skill set, cultivated through years of hands-on experience in the realm of social work.

    For over a decade and a half, Aden has immersed himself in various facets of social work, serving in diverse roles and capacities. His professional journey spans a broad spectrum of roles in the field, from hands-on case management to strategizing for larger social welfare projects. Throughout these roles, Aden's primary objective has remained consistent: to empower individuals, amplify human well-being, and address both basic and multifaceted needs of all people he serves.

    His extensive tenure in the sector stands testament to his unwavering commitment to uplifting communities, championing human dignity, and fostering an environment where every individual is given the tools and support to thrive.

  • Mohamed Noor

    Secretary

    Mohamed Noor, the visionary founder of Hope Homecare Services situated in Lewiston, has carved an inspiring journey, both academically and professionally. He proudly holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology, an honor he received from Eastern New Mexico University in 2013. Not stopping there, Mohamed further advanced his educational pursuits by securing a Mental Health Rehabilitation Technical/Community certification from the esteemed University of Southern Maine.

    Since 2014, Mohamed has been deeply involved in case management. His role extends far beyond paperwork and procedure; it's about creating bridges of opportunity. He actively links clients to vital resources, ensuring they have the tools and support to navigate their challenges. His work in advocacy underscores a deep commitment to empowering individuals and whole communities, ensuring that they not only survive but thrive.

    Beyond his professional endeavors, Mohamed is passionate about giving back. He is an ardent volunteer, firmly believing in the transformative power of community service. To Mohamed, volunteering is more than just a noble act; it is an avenue to connect more deeply with the community, understanding its pulse, and contributing positively to its betterment. His belief is anchored in the idea that when one serves their community, they not only help others but also fortify the bonds that make the community resilient and united.

    Treasurer

    Salah's journey in Lewiston began at the tender age of four. Growing up amidst the scenic beauty and rich culture of Maine, he developed a deep connection with the community that shaped his early years. After successfully graduating from high school in 2020, Salah's academic aspirations led him to pursue a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a field resonating with his innate curiosity about the human mind and behavior.

    Presently, Salah contributes to the Lewiston community by serving as a substitute teacher at Lewiston Public School. His passion for educating isn't merely about imparting knowledge; it's about touching young lives. Salah revels in the opportunity to work with children, guiding them, nurturing their talents, and witnessing their myriad achievements. In his own words, “Knowing that my role enables kids to tap into their fullest potential, fostering in them a sense of happiness and self-worth, fills my heart with immeasurable joy and brings a radiant smile to my face.” Salah's dedication to his profession and love for children shine brightly, reflecting his commitment to making a positive difference every single day.
